Position Purpose:

Checking of vehicles for damages, tools and loose components inside the vehicle and missing items to ensure that Transnet

Port Terminal is not held liable for claims.

Position outputs:

1.To arrive for duty in the proper safety gear (safety vest, safety or covered shoes and gloves) and on time to ensure start of

shift is not delayed.

2.To attend daily shift Indaba at allocated area on time at the start of each shift fully attired to receive tasks for the shift and

safety talks.

3.To ensure that you are at your allocated areas on time as per the shift roster to avoid delays in operation.

4.Receive instructions from area Supervisor during the course of the shift so that operations can flow smoothly.

5.Complete generic information on T918 prior to start of operations to eliminate downtime.

6.Checking for damages and scratches and missing items throughout the vehicle and informing the agents representative so

that there is common clear communication to prevent unnecessary claims for TPT.

7.Completing T918 for Chassis number, key number, number of keys and or remotes, number of parcels (wrapped floor

mats, ashtrays, etc) make and model of vehicle and details of damages and scratches and missing items that were found.

Qualifications & Experience:

Grade 12 NQF 4
2 years relevant experience in Port Operations/Maritime Services/Warehouse Tally Clerk
