Manages the various production activities of multiple manufacturing units or factories through subordinates in order to achieve planned production targets and to ensure the effective use of available resources.

Requirements

• Grade 12/ NQF 4
• Relevant production qualification will serve as recommendation
• At least 3 years’ experience in the management of production processes
• At least 5 years’ experience in the production / operational environment
• Valid driver’s license

Duties and Responsibilities
Production:

• Gathering production data from all sections in the plant for monitoring quality and performance in the plant with the objective to increase efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Do fault finding on problems in the plant
• Managing the parameters of Quality, Process and productivity.
• Optimizing usages of steam, hexane, electricity, maintenance and manpower
• Planning of production schedule
• Implementing and controlling the production schedule
• Send out and maintain daily reports
• Implement and enforce quality control procedures
• Determine and implement improvements to the production process

Training:

• Train operators or arrange for training to be done
• Identify training needs for production personnel

Performance evaluation:

• Send out monthly production performance report and discuss in monthly supervisor meetings
• Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement

General:

• Personnel management
• Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between all departments including maintenance, production, procurement, distribution and management
