Position Purpose:
- Provide leadership to cross-functional/project team members throughout the project life cycle to ensure planning,
management, and implementation of these projects within time and budget at prescribed quality standards.
- Keeps track of projects and reports to Snr Manager and business management on the progression of such projects,
escalating issues, and highlighting any impact on timelines, budget, and scope.
- Deploy standard methodologies in the delivery and control of projects
Position outputs:
- Ensure optimal project management including day-to-day coordination of project activities for cross-functional teams and
management of key resources with regards to all the projects undertaken to ensure that they are properly managed andeffectively implemented.
- Managing the scoping of the project. This includes the timelines, budget, resourcing, risks, and contracts
- Determine project goals and priorities with program manager and/or project sponsors
- Put proper monitoring and control measures in place for the implementation of project plans so that targets are met within
the set timeframes and resource constraints
- Co-create a project charter with the team, including the definition of completion criteria
- Manage and communicate a clear vision of the project’s objectives and motivate the project team to achieve them.
- Liaise with all the relevant stakeholders and obtain inputs on an ongoing basis throughout the projects to ensure that the
projects implemented meet the set objectives and address any issues that may arise.
- Conduct regular project reviews at all phases and escalate of issues to appropriate levels of management
- Conduct risk assessments and make recommendations before and during project implementation to the relevant decision
makers so that appropriate decisions can be made and ensure risk exposure is minimized. Risks to be maintained in CURAsystem
- Analyze risks, establish contingency plans, and identify trigger events and mitigate actions. Gather stakeholder input and
rank the project risks
- Ensure implementation of PMO standards, processes, and support services
- Represent project at meetings to assure that priorities are communicated and understood, and that progress/delays/issues
are reported
- Project latest estimates to be updated monthly on Project System and Project Progress Report template
- Oversee project documentation and updates to relevant knowledge bases; analyse lessons learned and share with other
project/programme managers
- Prepare project closure documentation
- Prepare post implementation review plans, documents, and plan for the post implementation review
- Develop Lessons Learnt report in conjunction with Change Management
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Information Technology
- 6 -10 years’ experience in a management or project management position.
- A project management certification such PMP and/or Prince 2 will be an added advantage
