Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12
- Minimum of two years of waiter experience in the restaurant/lodge/hospitality industry
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills with strong customer care relations
- Proficient in English and fluency in any other language that is spoken in the region is a distinct advantage.
- Practical experience in a similar working environment will serve as an advantage.
- Hard working person, punctual, neat, and diligent
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the restaurant, and conferences including all necessary mise-and-place prior to opening.
- Clean designated areas, according to laid down procedures and hygiene requirements.
- Set tables to laid down standards, ensure flowers and table decorations and all items in a good state.
- Take orders from customers, anticipate clients’ needs, receive money from clients for food & beverages and ensure prompt service.
- Prepare and clear areas for drinks service; provide a table and drinks service.
- Provide A la Carte and buffet service when required.
- Be totally familiar with the composition of all menu items.
- Serve food and beverages according to laid down standards in a professional, courteous manner.
- Promote an outstanding image to guests.
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and a professional appearance.
- Help with regular stock-takes and stock control to minimise shrinkage.
- Maintain a high level of hospitality standards.
- Assist with the complete setup and breakdown of the banquet area.
